Eureka Machines, December 2017
Hello everyone, and welcome to 2018. We’ve launched our latest Pledge campaign, and it promises to be the best yet. The new album is called ‘Victories’ and we are recording it right now. It’s sounding monstrous. The plan with this one was to strip it back a bit and try make it sound a bit more like the live experience. Four people in a room at maximum volume. And it’s sort of working so far. Obviously some bells and whistles are being thrown in the mix.
You can pledge here:
We’re also releasing a double-disc compilation called ‘Rarities’, to celebrate TEN YEARS of being a band. Who would have thought it?! This has one disc full of songs we recorded for albums and pledgers that never quite made the album, generally due to us not having enough time to get them finished. And another disc with all the covers we’ve ever recorded. Some of which you’ve heard, some of which you haven’t. So we’ve finished them all, had them remastered, and they are sounding great too. It’s the first time any of this has been made available on CD, and is strictly limited to 1000 copies so don’t hang about.
Finally, we are donating 10% of EVERYTHING to our friend Scott Sorry‘s medical fund. Scott was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. He lives in America, so his medical bills are through the roof, and because the tumour is affecting his motor abilities, he is unable to work at the moment. Scott is one of our favourite people and we think we should support our own, so we’re giving a slice of everything to him. It’s the right thing to do.
As ever, there’s a bunch of PLEDGE EXCLUSIVE bits and bobs, starting right away with a free Yorkshire Covers EP, where we cover four of our favourite bands from round our way. Who is on there? You’ll have to pledge to find out. We’ve also a bunch of videos from the studio, live tracks and plenty more, to make sure you Pledgesters are repaid for your support.
The album will be released digitally at the start of March (with the now-customary listening party – date TBA) and you should have the hard copies in your mitts by the end of March.
Finally, we rely on you guys to spread the word about what we are doing as much as possible, so please share and share alike – the more people we get along to the party, the merrier. We genuinely believe we have a good and positive message to share with the world and so the more like-minded pals you can get on board, the better.
Thank you as ever for your support! We can’t wait for you to hear these tunes. I would like to describe it as ‘the sound of a band striking the exact sweet spot between giving a fuck and not giving a fuck’.
Your humble servants,
Chris, Wayne, Davros and Pete
